Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and Handler Labs LLC (“we,” “us”) governing your use of the DoseMyPool app and dosemypool.com (the “Service”). By downloading or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. The end-user license (EULA)

Your license to use the DoseMyPool app is also governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”), available at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. These Terms supplement the Standard EULA. If there is a conflict regarding the app license itself, the Standard EULA governs.

2. What DoseMyPool does

DoseMyPool helps you calculate water-chemistry adjustments for pools and spas, logs your tests, and provides general troubleshooting guidance. It is an informational tool for your own water body.

3. Safety, dosing estimates, and “no professional advice” — please read

This is the most important section. Handling pool and spa chemicals can be hazardous.

  • Estimates only. Dosing figures, target ranges, and water-balance results are estimates based on the numbers and volume you enter. They are not guaranteed exact for your water.
  • Always follow product labels. Never mix chemicals (for example, never combine acid with chlorine). Add chemicals one at a time, with the pump running, in the order and amounts the labels and the app indicate, and re-test before adding more.
  • Not professional advice. DoseMyPool provides no medical, health, or professional pool-service advice. For serious problems or any health concern, consult a qualified professional.
  • You are responsible for verifying readings (e.g., with a reliable test kit) and for the safe handling, storage, and application of all chemicals.

4. Subscriptions, billing, and cancellation

DoseMyPool offers a free tier and optional Premium features via auto-renewable subscriptions, plus an optional one-time Lifetime unlock. All purchases are made through Apple in-app purchase; Apple is the merchant of record and handles billing. Before you purchase, the app discloses each plan’s title, length, and price. In addition:

  • Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the price shown unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Billing. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase and on each renewal.
  • Manage or cancel. Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
  • Free trial. Any free trial converts to a paid subscription unless canceled at least 24 hours before it ends.
  • Lifetime unlock. A one-time, non-consumable purchase — not a subscription. A Restore Purchases option is provided.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple and subject to Apple’s policies.

If your subscription lapses, the app degrades to the free tier — your data is never deleted and remains exportable.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: reverse engineer the app except as permitted by law; use the Service unlawfully; or interfere with its operation or security.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, content, design, and the DoseMyPool name and logo, is owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your own pools/spas, subject to these Terms and the Standard EULA.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. We do not warrant that dosing estimates will be error-free or suitable for your specific water.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR DAMAGE TO POOLS, SPAS, EQUIPMENT, SURFACES, OR PROPERTY, OR FOR PERSONAL INJURY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR YOUR HANDLING OF CHEMICALS. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service or chemicals, or your violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle data. DoseMyPool is local-first: your pool data stays on your device and your own iCloud.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If changes are material, we will update the “Effective date” and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or on dosemypool.com. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially violate these Terms. Sections 3 and 6–9 survive termination.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except where applicable consumer-protection law provides otherwise.

14. Apple

These Terms are between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and the Standard EULA and may enforce them.
